A pool can take anywhere between 3 weeks and 6 months depending on the size, access and level of complexity. The average swimming pool construction time will be in the region of 8-10 weeks

The scale and technology of what we offer greatly varies. An above ground exercise pool could cost around £30,000. A large pool with a complicated filtration and design could cost in the region of £250,000. However the average cost of a pool in the UK is around £60-£90,000.

There are many ways to keep the water safe in your pool, most use chemicals to kill bacteria. Chemical free filtration works by limiting the nutrients in the pool to such an extent so the bacteria are unable to multiply due to lack of nutrient content. This generally relies on a two or three stage filtration process. Step one is to mechanically filter any debris out of the water, hence limiting the biological input. Step two is generally a biological filtration process and step three can be UV and/or mineral dosing for pH balance.

Generally if the pool is indoors or the property is listed you will need planning consent. If the pool is outside it depends on your local planning authority. Please get in touch with The Natural Pool Company and we can help you find out if you need permission or not.

All pools should be covered when not in use as this will reduce heat loss and evaporation from the surface and cut your running costs significantly. This is even more crucial for indoor swimming pools as evaporation from the swimming pool surface will compromise the environment in the swimming pool area. Indoor pools require air heating and dehumidification equipment and a swimming pool cover will reduce running costs and make the environmental control system more efficient.
